- JK Rowling goes to court to block publication of the Harry Potter Lexicon. As much as I love the Lexicon, I’d absolutely love for JKR to write it herself!
- Jason Segel talks about, among other things, the already infamous nude scene in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Is it Friday yet?
- Have you heard about the new Ricky Gervais movie, This Side of Truth? It’s set in a world in which no one has ever lied – and Ricky’s the first one to have a go. The cast includes Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Jeffrey Tambor, Christopher Guest, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, and Patrick Stewart. This is going to be EPIC.
- Amazon.com is having an awesome sale on DVDs this week.
- Although Best Buy’s TV DVD sale is even better. The Office Season 3 for $20!! 30 Rock Season 1 for $20! Plus Family Guy, How I Met Your Mother, and Scrubs. I hope my tax return shows up this week.
- Via Officetally, Scan of Mindy Kaling’s piece in Esquire this month – Ten Things You Don’t Know About Women.
- Bid on a Sawyer figure signed by Josh Holloway. Guh.

I love the candles reference. That made my morning. It’s so true too!
I haven’t been following the Lexicon drama too closely, although it was a pretty stupid move on SVA’s part to try to publish it, it’s kind of a shame because JKR was a fan of the Lexicon, and SVA was kinda cool until he contracted teh dumb :P
WHY is it that all of the good sales come AFTER I’ve decided that I can’t buy anymore “fun stuff” for the month?!
Damn Amazon and its sales! Actually damn me for not being patient enough to wait for these sales and paying full price for much of this stuff…
I cannot wait to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall! YAY!
I can’t say I support the Lexicon at all. They should have backed off immediately when she expressed that she was upset.
Even if she didn’t want to write her own encyclopedia, it’s HER information that shouldn’t be published for the Lexicon to make a profit.
That Ricky Gervais movie is supposed to be filming in MA. I should really find out where and when and kidnap some of them.
The Lexicon thing, I dunno. There have been so many Potter books it seems odd to go after this one except that she decided to do one herself. My understanding was that she only decided to do one because she didn’t get everything into the 7 books. Maybe before that it didn’t bother her?
Can’t wait for FSM either. I fell in love with Segel all that time ago when he sang “Lady”,
I can’t wait for that Gervais film. There’s actually this great community where the uber-awesome (and well-known HP icon maker) updates daily with all the latest Gervais/TSOTT news.

Things seem to be so cheap in the US versus elsewhere. Down here in Australia if you get a DVD set on sale for $35AUD (that’s $32USD) that’s really, really cheap. Regular price for a 7 disc DVD set, such as Lost, is like $75AUD/$70USD minimum! So it’s weird to hear about $20 DVD sales, haha.
I agree about JKR. Plus, her encyclopedia will have NEW information, not just stuff that’s already in the books. ME WANTS.
This whole JKR/SVA&RDR lawsuit is an absolute mess. What bastards.
ANYway, somebody directed me to this amusing little video that basically describes the Copyright Fair Use law, with the use of Disney characters! You oughta check it out:
