Well, I’m officially excited about JJ Abrams’ new show Fringe, how about you?
An X-Files with the mythology laid out from the get-go, Fringe promises to ride grody special effects, the chemistry of its oddball trio, and Lance Reddick’s basso profundo to the genre promised land. After watching the pilot, we can only say: More, please.
Pacey aside, you’ve got Lance Reddick (The Wire, Lost) and John Noble (The Madness-of-King-Lear-ish Denthor in LOTR). You’ve got sci-fi, horror, and creepy mythology all rolled into one nerdtastic ball of JJ Abrams goodness. I’m usually not one to get excited about pilots, but in this case, I’ll make an exception.
I worry about this so-called mythology. We saw what happened to Alias with JJ but I guess I’ll reserve judgment until Lost is done. Maybe he’ll get it right this time!
I’m so into this, even though something about Joshua Jackson just makes me need to…punch the tv. And just in time for all of my current shows to be over (sob), too!
PS. It’s hilarious that the pilot starts with an airplane disaster.
not to mention a plane crash in the trailer just for good measure ;)
I am going to be the rare one who actually loves the Pacey, but yeah. I suppose I’ll watch this. I need more Sci-Fi/Horror/Creepy Mythology in my life!
There will be no further excitement about pilots until the lack of cancellation after the first season will be assured.
@onepinkshoe:
JJ really has very little to do with Lost anymore. I’m sure he helped a lot with the mythology in the first season, but this is really Damon and Carlton’s show now.
will be checking out this show. holla on Pop Candy when you get a chance Ack!!
When does the pilot air?
the pilot for this series has already leaked online and i’ve already watched it :D a lot of references to lost in it, but i won’t spoil it for you guys…
I’m psyched! One of the few series of the Fall I’m looking forward to.
I’m excited because of the X-Filesness of it. I need something to fill that hole! … um, as if I needed to watch MORE tv. But whatevs.
LOL @ “Pacey aside.”
