On this week’s Lost, Sayid was alive! But confused! And some crazy Temple guys strapped him into a torture chair and gave him a test to see if he was “claimed” (which is apparently the new word for zombie-fied), and even though they assured him he passed, he totally failed! So they tried to get Jack to give him some “medicine,” but Jack wouldn’t do it. So then Jack tried to take the pill himself, and Dogen wouldn’t let him (because it was POISON!), and then they both had tea. Meanwhile, in Alterna-Land, Kate and Claire became insta-BFFs after Kate carjacked Claire’s cab! They went and saw Aaron’s would-be adoptive mom (not happening anymore), then Claire went into premature labor, so Kate brought her to the hospital, and Ethan was Claire’s OB-GYN, and they stopped the labor because it was too early to have the BAY-BEE, and cops came looking for Kate, but Claire covered for her! Because that’s what brand new carjacker BFFs DO, right?? So then on the island, Sawyer got all emo and ran away from the temple, and of course Kate followed him, and the whole thing ended with Sawyer crying on the Dharmaville dock about how he was going to ask Juliet to marry him. Kate, who was also crying for no apparent reason, told Sawyer that she came back to the island to find Claire! Then, as Jin was getting recaptured by the Other Others, Mac from It’s Always Sunny got shot, and lo and behold, it was Claire with a rifle, making Danielle Rousseau look like a jungle supermodel! Dogen thought maybe she was “claimed” as well, and after seeing her hair, the Lost audience might have to agree.

We are going to have the pleasure of comparing realities, some that we’re already familiar with, some that look like them but aren’t quite them, and some that are much different. We will be integrating a really complicated narrative puzzle as we go, trying to stitch it together. And bit by bit, big chunks of the puzzle are going to fall into place. Start planning your Lost Finale parties, guys. ABC announced that Lost’s 2-hour finale will air on Sunday, May 23rd at 9 p.m. (most likely because American Idol’s finale will be airing during the normal Tuesday timeslot, but I’d like to think it’s because they wanted it to air on a “number” date!)

This week on LOST, we found out that Juliet banging on that bomb actually worked, and somehow the island sank to the bottom of the ocean, and YAY the Losties were all sent back in time! All our old pals (and somehow Desmond) on Oceanic Flight 815 landed safe and sound at LAX! The biggest problems they had were Charlie choking on some drugs, the airline losing Christian’s corpse much to Jack’s chagrin, and Kate pulling a fast one on the Marshal and escaping in a cab with Claire.
But because this is LOST we’re talking about, Jack, Sawyer, & Friends are ALSO still stuck on the island, but now in 2007! Confused? You’re not alone! Ben and Richard were also left wondering “WTF?” when Jacob’s enemy, i.e. the fake Locke, went and killed all of Ilana’s cronies AS THE SMOKE MONSTER! Juliet came back to life and then died, Sayid died and then came back to life, and despite visiting Hurley, Jacob’s totally dead, and a bunch of Temple-dwelling other Others (including some of the Tailies) are super pissed about it!
